Learning at Work - increase your know-how - get the job

Good temps can be worth their weight in gold

When you move from job to job you won't always find the same version of Office installed. A few organisations are already running 2007, but the bulk will be using 2003 for many years to come. There are still very many, including some very big names, who are still using even earlier versions!

So, whether you are an agency temp, a freelance temp or run your own virtual assistant business, it pays to be able to make full use of different versions of Office applications.

Having our courses at your fingertips means that, wherever you are starting from scratch or need a quick refresher, you can call up the training you need.

Mandy, a freelance temp who also works through a local agency said, "I was offered some well paid work for a senior executive in a big company - but they were still using 2000. "

Fortunately, the agency I use had just taken on the courses from ICUC and were willing to provide me with access to the 2000 courses so that I could see just how limited the applications were in that version!

The job was a breeze and since then, I've signed up on my own for the new 2007 courses so that I can get some of my own freelance work with some smaller companies I know who have already moved to 2007. If I get the jobs, I will probably recommend the ICUC courses to them.

So, how long do I get to keep the courses?

You sign up for access for a year. The courses are for your own personal use and you can go back for a refresher as often as you like. If you are working at a client site and they have internet access, you can log on to your own training and get the help you need then and there.

You might even earn yourself a bonus from your employers by using what you learn from the training and tips to suggest better ways in which they might use Office applications and gain an edge over their competitors.

Click on one of these sample lessons to get an idea of what is on offer - courses have, on average, more than one hundred such lessons which you can either do in order or search and pick to suit your particular need at a given time.
